Degree programs provide training and credentials that allow graduates to advance rewarding professional careers. Yorkville University is a popular option for international students, with more than 1,500 international students studying on the campuses. Yorkville University offers an ESL Pathway Program that enables international students with less than the minimum required IELTS scores to be accepted to their desired program.
The program offers three levels of study with content focused on improving students English language skills. International students taking a ESL Pathway have the ability too, smoothly transition into a new environment before starting their program. Yorkville University graduates are eligible for the postgraduate work permit (PGWP). This allows students who have graduated to gain Canadian work experience. Students must be a graduate from Yorkville University, studying for a minimum of 8 months.

Yorkville University is officially approved by the provincial governments of New Brunswick, Ontario and British Columbia to offer degree programs.
Each campus offers different degree programs. Yorkville University has two physical campuses in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Toronto, Ontario, and a virtual campus for online students in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
All international students must obtain a study permit before classes start. The study permit can be applied for online, at a Canadian consular office abroad, or in Canada. Please see here for more information.
International students who continuously study full time on campus for the majority of their courses and graduate may apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which can be valid for up to three years and offers a path to permanent residency status in Canada. A student’s spouse or common-law partner may also apply for an open work permit. Please see here for more information.
Students can use an approved term break to study year-round instead of having an academic term off. Yorkville University operates year-round for undergraduate programs and has four academic terms and intake periods starting in January, April, July and October. If you have previous post-secondary education, you can also apply for transfer credits from past college or university courses toward completion of the program, which can further shorten your study time.
You may be able to substitute on-campus courses with online courses depending on availability; this is commonly done by students who want more flexibility in their class schedule. However, for international students who would like to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) in Canada, at least 50% of total courses must continuously be taken on campus with full-time student status.
Many international students work part time to help finance their education. During study periods, your study permit may allow you to work up to 20 hrs. per week or up to 30 hrs. per week during study breaks.
Unfortunately, we do not offer accommodation on campus. However, several resources are available for students to search for off-campus options.
Yes. All international students, who study in our on-campus programs, require to be covered by Health Insurance through the University approved providers.
Only domestic students can apply to Canadian provincial student loan programs such as the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) or StudentAid BC.
